SMART Utility is fully compatible with Intel Macs running Mac OS 13 Ventura. This includes the external driver!
However, for M1 & M2 Macs running Mac OS 13 Ventura, it should be compatible but not the external driver.
SMART Utility 3.2.7 has been released, which adds full support for Big Sur and Monterey.
NOTE: This is the last free version. Version 4.0 will be out soon, and will be a paid upgrade, unless you purchased after May 1st, 2016 and then it is free.
NOTE: This is the last version for 10.9 (Mavericks) and 10.10 (Yosemite), 10.11 (El Capitan), 10.12 (Sierra). Version 4.0 will only support 10.13 (High Sierra) and above.
NOTE: Users on 10.9 (Mavericks) and 10.10 (Yosemite), and 10.11 (El Capitan) will have to download manually due to the certificates on those OS’s being too old
Here’s the full release notes:

This information is way later than it should have been!
SMART Utility is fully compatible with Intel Macs running Big Sur. This includes the external driver! It was fully compatible by Beta 10, and the initial release (11.0) was the same.
Both SMART Utility and the external driver were also tested on 11.1, 11.2, and now 11.3, and the compatibility remains. The only issue that arises is on reboot, you may have to unplug and replug in any external drives to get them to show up.
However, for M1 Macs running Big Sur, it should be compatible but not the external driver. We just received our first M1 Mac here (a Mac Mini) so we will be testing soon.
Likely it will require version 4.0 to be native, based on some code we need to update. That should be released soon however!
SEE NEW POST FOR UPDATED INFORMATION
Currently SMART Utility is fully compatible with Mac OS 11.0 Big Sur (Beta 9). That should not change with the release version.
However, the SAT SMART Driver is not compatible. In prior Beta versions it would crash the Mac. However, in Beta 9 that did not happen. Nonetheless, it is still recommended to remove it before upgrading to Big Sur by running these in the Terminal:
sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/SATSMARTDriver.kext
sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/SATSMARTLib.plugin
The driver is a third party driver and has not been actively developed in some time. Look for an update here about the future of that driver.

Our current licensing and purchasing system, eSellerate, is shutting down June 30th. We are working on implementing a new one, Paddle, but we will likely not get it out by that date.
So if you are thinking of purchasing, do so now! Otherwise you’ll still have 30 days to test out SMART Utility, which will cover you until the new system is ready, along with Version 4.0.
SMART Utility 3.2.5 has been released, which fixes a couple of small bugs.
NOTE: This is the last free version. Version 4.0 will be out in July, and will be a paid upgrade, unless you purchased after May 1st, 2016 and then it is free.
NOTE: This is the last version for 10.9 (Mavericks) and 10.10 (Yosemite). Version 4.0 will only support 10.11 (El Capitan) and above.

We wanted to give an update on SMART Utility. As you probably know, version 4.0 is much delayed. This lead to a re-evaluation of the roadmap. Version 4.0 was too ambitious for a single release, especially re-designing the interface. So the revise plan is this:
Version 3.3 (out in a few weeks): Some new features and a bunch of bug fixes
Version 4.0 (out in six months): Re-work the algorithm to better match todays drives
Version 5.0 (out in one to two years): Re-design the interface
While a new interface is the sexy feature, the core algorithm work is much more important. This roadmap is much more achievable, and since there will be point releases in between, better updates instead of delaying everything.
